Rearranged stuff again. Printer on top of little bookcase seems to work OK. And putting it this way let me rearrange where I had the modem and router plugged in, which let me eliminate a bunch of messy cords. And the way I have it now, I can hide a bunch of others by taping them to the back of the desk leg. (I have issues with cords. Can't stand a tangle of electrical cords under the desk.)

t edit: the Apple cords that let you swap out the cord or the plug are great. Just switched a bunch of those around, and it made everything a whole lot neater. Computer cord goes right into the wall, Airport Express gets some extra cord so that it can sit on the desk.

Mostly lurking...

YAY! I got all of my quilt squares done, and I've got the inside of the quilt laid out: [link] It's really gorgeous. The pictures just don't do it justice. And once I add the borders, this sucker is gonna just pop. Here's a more close-up picture: [link]

I want to work on it more, but I totally have to go to bed. Really. Right now. See me go.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I love playing Word Sandwich just after 9. Makes me feel so smart to be in the top three... for a few minutes.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

I've been playing catch up all day, so I'm forgetting a lot of comments.

First and foremost, KT, in regards to the car. I'd vote for leave it be. The lower car payment for longer is annoying, but not worth the hassle of re-fi'ing again. And it's nice to have the OPTION to pay more, should cash flow allow it. But in tight months not HAVE to. FWIW, althought I was doing the dance of glee a few months back for paying it off early, I'm now looking at the summer months wishing I had waited. While it's nice to have one less bill, it's also nice to have some cash on hand in case something happens (like, oh, I dunno, going to the hospital, which we both can relate to!)

They used government money to give people jobs like working on our crumbling infrastructure.
I forget who said this originally, but stands with them 100%. I really think this "stimulus check" shite is just to fuck with the numbers so they can say "see, it's not a recession, there was two months where spending went UP!" Lord knows our infrastrucure could use some help. The roads. Bridges. Hello, was it Twin Cities bridge thing! Maybe use it to build a national rail system worth a damn to REDUCE our dependency on oil.

OK, I gotta stop. I realize I'm starting to rant. sorry about that.

oh ya, KT, to soften the cancellation fee, maybe make it half fee for last minute cancellation? Just an idea.

I think maybe a girl was flirting with me tonight!! I got her number...she's only in town for a couple weeks...

...granted, I don't really have the hots for her. So it's not THAT exciting. But my life is kinda lame lately, so...

being flirted with is good! Even if it's for a few weeks. Everyone needs an ego boost.

Being flirted with sounds nice.

Why can't I sleep? Or concentrate on anything? I've got four different books on my bed right now, and I keep reading a page or two of one, then switching to another and reading a page or two, and so on. Stupid brain.

meara - May 06, 2008 9:05:38 pm PDT #8027 of 10001

Why do I keep being so sleepy at night? Normally I'm not like this, but lately it's getting to 10pm and I'm like "Is it bedtime yet?" even though I've been getting eight hours of sleep or more....madness.

And yes, being flirted with is nice. Even nicer would be some making out (though probably not with this particular girl, as while she seemed really cool, there wasn't chemistry, I don't think)...I had such nice dreams last night. If only they were true...

Random question: So, I got an email from this person I know, who was in a competition last weekend. It was in response to a group email, adn she let me know she won the competition. I congratulated her (I hadn't heard, and was wondering if I hadn't heard because she lost, but that wasn't the case!). And then in her response she was like "You should ask (otherperson) about my reaction when yaddayadda, it was funny". Is it just me, or is that weird? Why not just tell me yourself about your reaction???
