I am making this today in prep for making it again for mother's day: [link] A co-worker brought it in recently and it was sooo good!
Spike's Bitches 40: Buckle Up, Kids! Daddy's Puttin' the Hammer Down.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
A living room as an entirely separate room sounds very nice.
I really need to do laundry. I really don't want to do laundry.
Hil, I think we need houselves, no? They can wash the floors, do laundry. We'd promise to let them be free and treat them humanly, right?
Exactly.
I also need sheets that actually fit my mattress. My fitted sheets aren't deep enough, and they keep popping off the mattress while I'm sleeping. Why are the deep-pocket sheets so expensive?
Did we know about this: [link] cuteotters.com?
I think my favorite part of Sean's recipe is that includes orange zest.
My eyes well up at the thought of him zesting an orange.
I can't believe Trudy has a place with separate rooms! That's astonishing. Are you still in the same area of the city?
I need to mark Sean's recipe. Le yum.
So in meme news, I woke up crazy. I had intense dreams all night, and what's worse, intense rejection/self-esteem dreams. I woke up still half in that dream world feeling rejected and unloved (which, yes, I know is insane) and generally out of place in my current reality. Ack!
Also, I was supposed to not have any subbing tomorrow so I could ease back into my school life (my 9th graders are all on their field trip, so no regular classes), but I just got an email asking me to sub all day. Argh.
At the Maker Faire today, it was announced that a new MacGyver film may be in the works. On my way to Boxed Set to post the link....
Kristin, is it possible for you to tactfully turn down the subbing request due to your getting over illness?

I've moved 75 blocks north -- from the Upper West Side to Washington Heights. Its a lot like my old neighborhood was when I moved there five years ago.
I was hesitant to give up a rent stabilized studio apartment in an up and coming neighborhood, but the opportunity arose for a rent stabilized three bedroom in the next up and coming neighborhood so I took it.
I'll need to have roommates for a couple of years, but eventually that won't be necessary.
My new bedroom is larger by 20 square feet than my old apartment in its entirety.
