Spike's Bitches 40: Buckle Up, Kids! Daddy's Puttin' the Hammer Down.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I'm with Mme Bollinger when it comes to Champagne.
“I drink it when I’m happy and when I’m sad. Sometimes I drink it when I’m alone. When I have company I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it if I’m not hungry and drink it when I am. Otherwise, I never touch it – unless I’m thirsty.”
man three nights on the Queen Mary did not help my ghost fear. I'm back at work and I keep hearing voices!
One of the neatest things was going exploring after dinner Sunday night and happening across the farewell Champ Car party in the Grand Salon. We were the bittersweetest of crashers but we chickened out at the open bar so I'm not sure you can really call us crashers.
I'm amused that I began the weekend unsure if racing was really my thing and ended the weekend crying because No More Champ Cars. I'm tempted to try to make Road America next year. I want to hear "Welcome Race Fans!" again.
I think my cheap-o router bit the bullet. I can get DHCP for my computer for it, but not for it from the internet. If I bypass router, I can get DHCP for my computer. I really don't have the money to buy new router. Granted, the only reason I *need* it is to connect xbox to intenet at same time as computer.
Laura, I'm impressed with how well your Little Grandma is doing. All best wishes to her.
I've never been able to find a white wine I like. Reds make my palate happy. Unfortunately, I think they're starting to give me headaches, which is not happy-making.
The earth day card link likes me not, Teppy. Can you describe it? Without using mime...
Omnis, try a hard reset. It's usually the little recessed hole in the back of the router that you can push in and hold in a straightened paper clip for about 20 seconds.
Then connect to it and set it up again.
If this doesn't work, post in the tech thread the model you have and maybe we can help.
Also consider checking for a firmware upgrade.
I'm amazed by the awesomeness of Owen's teacher. For the record, I cannot
imagine
making such an offer. Hell no. So mad props to her!
Erika - sorry to hear about your morning. Bloody annoying.
I'm just glad that the chief excitement of my work day was me setting the fire alarm off. The oven in that kitchen desperately needs to be cleaned. It's a self-cleaning oven, and only one person there knows the trick to starting the cleaning cycle. I am not she. The good news is, all of the residents responded quickly to our prompts to evacuate the building. The not-stroke and so not too bad news on the emergency from yesterday is fainting due to anemia/electrolyte imbalance.
Laura, I'm definitely praying for Little Grandma.

I probably have a spare router around here somewhere. I usually have a few of them.
So I got a response from the latest potential future wife (we'll call her JFO). As I suspected, I got stuck in her spam filter, since Gmail hates me.
She sounds like a normal enough girl. There's something casual and refreshing about her response (which seems to amount to "I work a lot and have very little free time"), but she didn't respond to a single thing I said in my e-mail, so I have no idea what she thought about any of it. Well, except for the one thing:
About this whole process...not the biggest fan of it...I've been put in some pretty awkward situations, so getting an e-mail from you is def not the worst.
So I'm not the worst! That's...a start.

Ya, I read that mid day/mid catch up & forgot to say. I'm not a parent, but that is of the awesome. O's teacher gets a cookie! A batch of them!

Ya, done, done, and done. The reset did start to show flicker between the LED's, but no DHCP. I'll bring over to tech thread. Thanks D.

That'd be swell if I can't get this one going again. Thanks!
