It's a brave person who can venture outside before caffeination.
I decided it was worth it, and off I went. The building next to my Dunkin Donuts was torn down yesterday, so that was weird to see...especially since I didn't realize that Staples was tearing it down. It's going to be weird to have a Staples in my neighborhood. It just seems so commercialized.
But, at least now I have a decent cup of coffee. And donuts. Now some inspiration would be good!
ND and Kristin, that really sucks about the Mouse mistreatment.
Apparently the "that'll give you bees" story ended up in the LJ community Metaquotes. And someone there has made an icon of it. And that someone happens to be in my friends list from the Doctor Who fandom. So here is the post [link] .
ETA: Ok, it may or may not have been made by that person, but anyway, I saw it in her journal.
Funny. I was out for drinks recently with one of the consultants from my old job and he was telling his own version of the bees. Though in his case the key line was "I met the Pope!"
Related to yesterday's vaccine conversation, Science-Based Medicine and Neurologica both have really excellent posts up about the Hannah Poling case if people want to read more about it.

Just had a quick talk with the producer, there will be compensation. He agrees that I've gone above and beyond on this project.
ND, that's great! A little acknowledgement goes a long way.
I remember having chicken pox, vaguely. I think I gave it to both my brothers. Fortunately, they chose not to share their measles with me. Especially Mike, who ran a 106 degree fever. Scared the piss out of my folks.
Both my kids had chicken pox very young, 18 months and six months. I was a little pissed. My NSDexH and I went to his sister's wedding. In Ohio. From Arizona. His niece and nephew were recovering, but staying somewhere different from us. I told NSDexH not to expose the kids by taking them over there. He did not listen. While I was not averse to the kids getting chicken pox, they didn't need to get it while we were on a 2400 mile road trip! I'm still a little grrr about that.
Agreeing with Vortex. Unless the producer has a Mouse checkbook in his back pocket...and even then.
Ya know what is a VERY bad way to start the morning? Taking a sip of tea, coughing, and having said tea come out your nose. Blech.

I hear it's funnier when it's wine.
