Okay that really sucks that taking care of your kid causes such conflicts with employers.
The downside of being freelance is that there are many times when I
can't
just take off (paid or unpaid) to deal with some home emergency. Sometimes I can, but many times, I really am the only person who can do what I'm doing. And I can't get a replacement because the thing we're doing that requires my presence is
happening right now.
And it's one of those things where even one instance of deciding that being with S is more important than work and damn everything else means I stop getting work calls and start looking for another career.
I have all the flexibility in the world deciding on when or where I actually work, but once I'm actually on the clock, I'm typically locked in until the shift/job is over.
(Edited because I've clearly been spending too much time on non-Buffista boards lately, and am using wrong tags)

GASP! You're cheating on us??? I feel so....betrayed.
m-net will never love you the way we do, Sean.
CHEATER CHEATER BAND-CANDY EATER!

I'm at work, though there's no way I would've come in while feeling this sick if I hadn't already missed three days. I actually feel sicker than I did yesterday, as if I'm getting a whole 'nother cold. (I think what I had was a stomach virus or food poisoning quickly followed by a bad cold, because DH and Annabel had the cold but not the stomach symptoms.) I know I need to eat and drink more, because my stomach is mostly fine now, but food still just doesn't smell or taste all that appealing.
I haven't been quite as sick this winter as I was AB's first winter in daycare, but it's close. I wonder if this is my body adjusting to working in the county hospital....

What's really funny about that, Em?
The reason I'm posting on this other board is to play a posting board roleplaying game with a bunch of other people, including Raven, Wheeler and Thaxton.
Okay, I don't think Wheeler or Thaxton ever posted on m-net, but it struck me as funny that you were basically accusing me of cheating on Buffistas with the "Old Crew," and that is
exactly what I've been doing.

You traitor!
Give them a kiss for me, okay?

Dude! They have long ago established they will never love you as Buffistas do.
Me excepted of course. I think you're a waste of air.
