Buffy: A Guide, but no water or food. So it leads me to the sacred place and then a week later it leads you to my bleached bones? Giles: Buffy, really. It takes more than a week to bleach bones.

'Dirty Girls'

Spike's Bitches 40: Buckle Up, Kids! Daddy's Puttin' the Hammer Down.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

After coming back from rotator cuff surgery this season, Pedro Martinez went 4⅓ innings today before going back on the DL.

Fuck!

Good news for Braves fans, though.

Susan, I'll just note that you have really disliked almost all of your dayjobs. You like a lot of autonomy and that's hard to come by with a middle level job. It's the sort of thing that tends to happen by accident on an org-chart rather than by design. You have strong issues with authority and those issues ping on you in a variety of ways. I think the satisfactory dayjob is going to be elusive for you.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I left a (unfortunately drunken) message on her cell letting her know if she needs anything to call me. If I had known this was going to happen tonight I wouldn't have started drinking at 4.

Well...agreed, but in saying that do you have any ideas for what I can do about it, other than accepting unhappiness and/or trying to catch lightning in a bottle in the form of a bestseller?

Trust my rage

Cash, I can't copy and paste but I was seriously thinking about coming to visit but the car I'm driving is not very safe or reliable and I just shortened my trip by a week. Still, it would have been lots of fun.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I posted it in Natter, so I should post it here: Muppets blooper reel. Featuring Beaker!

FWIW, I have some ideas of what might give me some more autonomy, even if not all that I might want: finding a really small organization instead of working for a Giant State Bureaucracy, and/or find a way to move back into event planning, which could be tricky schedule-wise with a child but possibly doable as long as DH's schedule stays fairly predictable.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

And even if you do have a career about which people have a clear-cut impression, ie. being a nurse, their impression is so unbelievably misguided and wrong that to explain the mistakes would take you days.

Kristin kinda already said it, but yeah, there are some jobs where the stereotypes tend to overshadow the job, and nursing is one of them.

Because books.

So is writing, for what that's worth. No, I'm not a millionaire. No, I'm not going on Oprah. No, I can't tell you where I get my ideas, except it's not from the Magical Idea Well.

I'm still bummed that the magical writing fairies aren't real.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Crap. They're not?
