He and I are having a "performance Evaluation" on Friday. At which point I'm going to tell him, "Your thoughts on what my priorities ought to be versus what my priorities are are not meshing. You either need to understand my family comes first and always will or we each need to find someone or something that will better suit our needs."

vw, I forgot to say how super cute your nephew looks in those pictures and you look gorgeous.
I'm very happy that I had both my children. It's very stressful at times. (Very) And yet...there is this tremendous intimacy which you can only get to through parenting. The balance for me has been sort of like the worst moments in parenting are usually high levels of agita, but the best moments are the purest joy I've ever felt.
You get agita more than joy, but ultimately it's just agita which passes.
I will second Joe's emotion that fighting Emeline into a pair of pants in the morning is washed away when she serenades us with "Part of Your World" on the way to daycare in the morning. I'm gonna try to video tape it tonight to post on YouTube cause it really is the sweetest thing. She has the crescendos and inflections DOWN.
MM, my phone actually rang this morning! More than once! It was a wrong number.
I love my babies like crazy and love being a mom AND I think it's totally overwhelming much of the time.

I've had more than one woman tell me very quietly that she envies me my childfree life. Too many women around here bought into the "I'm 20 years old, I should be married and have at least one child here or on the way." It's horrifying to hear the smug "sympathy" for the "poor girl" who's actually graduating college without having found a man to marry her.
