So last night I got arm twisted into a preseason game of Dodgers at Angels. Oh the humanity! Extra innings, and they called it a draw. Still was fun. And the price was PERFECT!
Today, i was a bad boy. nooo not in the fun kinda way. I was dragged to "Second Spin" used CD/DVD/ shopppe. ooops. I walked out with $144 in DVD's. What's the phrase? Commerce Commiserating? Retail Therapy? Something witty like that. Ya, apparently I suffered from it today. But I got some good titles!!
o ya, changed my tag line too. Was in conversation with friend who was drove me to/from hospital for the tests the other week. And the sheet said "You may experience some minor amnesia around the event. This is normal". We both got a good laugh after I said "I don't remember any amnesia" so I thought it a good tagline.
I'd never heard of it until xkcd referenced it.
And did so beautifully, I might add. Posting The Ring on YouTube is a perfect revenge for RickRolling.
I walked out with $144 in DVD's.
Please. I spent $180 on 2 pairs of shoes today. And believe me when I say that I am such a cheap bastard that, before today, $180 would have bought me AT LEAST 5 pairs of shoes. (Not counting sneakers, for which I am more than willing to pay $100 or more, because if you're going to work out, you gotta have good, supportive sneakers.)
Of course, that could explain why all my shoes tend to fall apart on me after 6 months. These new ones had better NOT.
And, after spraining the same ankle twice in the span of 6 weeks, I figure I need actual *good* shoes, and I knew that would very likely mean buying shoes that cost more than $30/pair.
(And this is a whole lot of justification for something that people do every day, isn't it? Hell, lots of women pay more than $180 for ONE pair of shoes. It's just that....*I* never have. So spending that much is both weird and exhilarating.)
How many DVDs is that?
14 movies, 26 DVD's, plus special features and such. So, $10/movie, roughly.

that's what I kept telling my visa card. And thankfully it believed me, because when she swiped it, the lil machine beeped quickly and approved me! It's nice to be accepted, no?
I must admit I get a little lift when the machine tells me I've been approved.
if only that lift lasted till after paying the bill.
