You never know if a girl's gonna say 'yes', or if she's gonna laugh in your face and pull out your still-beating heart and crush it into the ground with her heel.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I have a bad feeling about today.

I do too, sarameg, and I have no idea why.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Little kids are immoral little beasts.

Immoral or amoral? I would tend to think amoral simply because at 8 or 9 do children have moral standards?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And then I forget about it until the next year instead of asking someone, which, you know, my issue. But. Would it absolutely kill them to say on the form "deduct more" or "deduct less"?

Seriously. All of a sudden this year, I was like, "Fuck! What does 2 mean again? Is that the one where I've fucked up and owe a lot, or is that the right one? How could that be the right one? Not sure. Well, we'll see..."

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I did not know childcare was deductible.

Yes. THANK GOD.

I pay enough in childcare now that it's like the equivalent of parochial school tuition. Which I guess means I should get my kids baptized in the Catholic Church so we can afford private school at some point.

I applied for a job at textbook company. Meep. Nothing will prolly come of it, but still.

I can't find the form I need to keep my current job. I seem to have lost it. Is that a sign?

Now tagless for your comfort.

A co-worked of DH's figured out that he needs to claim 9 to exactly owe nothing and get nothing back on his tax return. I think it took him years to figure it out.

I've noticed vultures flying around the office building today. I suspect it has something to do with the Ford Sales Rally being held in the building today.

Punishingly Intricate

I would tend to think amoral simply because at 8 or 9 do children have moral standards?

Absolutely! Whether they have clear ideas of what consequences all of their actions will have is another matter.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Immoral or amoral? I would tend to think amoral simply because at 8 or 9 do children have moral standards?

Amoral is what I mean.

I'd say my 8 year old definitely has a sense of moral standards, though she seems to take a looser stand when her brother is involved.
