Riley: Oh, yeah. Sorry 'bout last time. Heard I missed out on some fun. Xander: Oh yeah, fun was had. Also frolic, merriment and near-death hijinks.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Hey meara!

Fun new people don't sound so fun. And two hour waiting? I wouldn't wait that long.

I'm having a Monday. Probably because my Monday was actually good.

meara - Apr 01, 2008 10:47:03 pm PDT #8833 of 10001

Well, I was hanging out with someone else I met last week, and flirting with her. And also ran into someone I met my first weekend in Seattle--who remembered my name! So now I'll remember her, too.

Sorry about your Monday!

I really need to have a reason to get up and out of the house at a decent hour tomorrow. Hrm. I should've made an appointment or something.

Our wings are not tired.

Meara, you could pretend that you actually start your new job on Thursday, and then you'll maybe have that "gotta get my crap together" kind of energy tomorrow.

That worked once for me. But even I can't fool myself twice!

When I was unemployed, which was for a long long time, I developed an unhealthy crush on Kelly Ripa.

I don't encourage that sort of behavior.

And your stories of the lesbians in Seattle have given me the impression that they're flakier than most. Are they? And I hope you're not letting the GILF play around with your emotions any more. If she aint gonna play around with the rest of ya, then she has to stay outta your brain!

This post brought to you by the high of recently conquered digital cable/Tivo/dvds/multiple rooms hook ups.

AND I even got my wireless all-in-one printer dealie all set up.

Hah! No, no, this has nothing to do with the GILF, though I agree that Seattle lesbians seem to be super flakey.

Pretending I start the job Thursday would only work if I had something to DO...I do need to buy a desk, I think (I have one, but it's tiny), and definitely a new chair, but...I wake up in the morning, and it's not like it's important i do that at 10AM rather than 2pm. Except that it'll make it that much harder to get up on Monday and so on!

Our wings are not tired.

The only thing that consistently got me out of the house during that time was meeting another unemployed friend for breakfast and some exercise.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Ok. Who stole my semi-motivation to work today?

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Shir, I think your motivation and mine might have run off to Aruba.

Without us.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm at work. I just finished my Egg McMuffin.

I think it's time for a nap.

On the plus side, it's getting light out!

Stop Making Movies About my Books, by Dr. Seuss.

Why it's simply an outrage—a crime, you must judge!—
To crap on my books with this big-budget sludge.
My books are for children to learn ones and twos in,
Not commercialous slop for Jim Carrey to ruin.

hip deep in pie

Has anyone here had problems with NPR podcasts this week? Both Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me and Car Talk were only partial files. So I deleted them and downloaded again, and this time the files are even shorter. For a second I thought maybe work was blocking my ability to download large files, but then all 40 mins. of the Savage Love podcast is there.
