There are all sorts of heinous faux-pas in most of my meetings at work. It's just when I catch ME doing them... well, I groan at the very least.

Seriously, this crew? Barely socialized. B.A.R.E.L.Y.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Then it's not a faux-pas if no one else noticed. No groaning allowed.

I hope the work stress has lessened for you.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

oh crap! Cashmere, I meant to say thank you for the book. I'm not sure I have the courage to read it yet, but I keep picking it up, reading snippets and putting it back down.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Random gift for Jesse.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Those are fabulous photos. A year! Imagine. I told the SO and he was all happy.

I think I use "garbage" and "trash" pretty interchangeably. I also say rubbish, which is what I think my mother said most of the time. Rubbish, and rubbish bins. Hmm. Now I'm thinking about rubbish.

I sorted my recyclables today, and I must say I'm doing much better with them in the new house, now there's a place for them. It's kinda hard not to recycle when the difference in effort is reaching my hand out another centimeter. (My kitchen has a trash pullout, and it's two cans, one behind the other. I put garbage in the front one and all recyclables in the back one. Then I periodically sort the back one into the larger bins on the deck, and take them to the various recyclers when they fill up.)

Anyway, at this point we're done with the construction debris, so into our big giant garbage can (to be picked up by the garbageman) goes only one small kitchen bag every week. Although this week there was more, but all kleenexes.

Now tagless for your comfort.

You're welcome, Kat! I read it that way--I just skipped around. I found some of the pieces more comforting than others. Some of them, though, really gave me perspective.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Thanks for sharing those photos, Kat. I love those babies.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Gorgeous babies, Kat!

God, I just wrote a really difficult e-mail. I'm heading out to Mom's for the next two weeks, and I had to send her a request to not mention my weight while we're together. I was going to ask her over the phone, but I was crying while typing the message--there was no way I could have talked to her about it. I'll be talking to her in the morning, I'll make sure she goes online for her messages before I get there. It's such a touchy subject between us, but if I didn't put in the request, I would either be resenting her discussing it with me at the beginning of the trip, or unable to relax while waiting for the discussion at the end of the trip.

Tonight, I'm going to attempt to go to sleep at a semi-reasonable hour. Attempt. I may end up awake, reading a book for several hours.

In any case....good night, West Coast. Good morning to the early crew...

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I went to bed at a reasonable hour! And feel better for it.
