Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Although "people" was mostly the government and the city.

The problem in NYC is that places I could afford the payments on are mostly co-ops and I'm pretty sure there's no help on the 20% down there. BUT, even a place that was only half-decent would double my monthly payment (and I know that you get some back in tax relief and you're building equity and etc.), so I'm not overly pressed at this point.

Hey, maybe when my grandmother dies, I'll be able to sell her Ferragamos on eBay for the money!! (I doubt there will be much cash, but there should still be nice stuff.)

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

In European wine regions, a new parent might dip a finger in the local pride and wipe it lovingly across an infant’s lips — “just to give the taste.” A child at the family table might have a spoonful of wine added to the water, because it says, “You are one of us.” A teenager might have a small glass of wine, introducing an adult pleasure in a safe and supervised manner. This is how I imagined it in my house.

One authority disparaged the European model, saying that teenage drinking in Europe — never mind which part — is much worse than it is in the United States.

Even if there is any truth to this second point, I have a hard time believing it is in the "wine regions" referenced above.

Jesse - my monthly payment is only a bit more than yours. if the market goes down any you will find 1BRs for the same monthly as you pay now.

Happy Birthday, Allyson!

Please to be wishing no earthquakes in Pasadena. I like unexplained power outage, however.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Happy birthday, Allyson!

Well, I'm not giving up on saving or anything! We'll see. Master plan: fall in love with someone with either property or savings.

At least that's more practical than my minion, who was saying that having her husband carry the baby would be ideal, in her opinion. Probably more financially solvent men out there than men with (as she put it) lady parts.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Aw, Roland Orzabel so does not belong on that list. He's adorable.

Dude, agreed.

I am fairly certain all the transmen (FTM) I know did not go for the bottom surgery. It's usually just T and top surgery.

(Somehow, I wound up knowing a fair number of fanboys who were born fangirls. Those I've met in person? Totally boys. No question.)

Yeah, our markets are always going to be pretty different. I was also very lucky to be able to buy and to find a place when I did.
