If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Fucking dog got me up yesterday at 4 am for a walk. So not on. Except that I know when she does that it generally means there's some sort of GI emergency on the horizon, so I've learned not to ignore it.

Coding and Sleeping

I clicked on the Jell-O link and saw on the sidebar a number of stories about Spitzer's prostitute. It strikes me as somehow wrong that being a prostitute should end up being a good career move.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You guys, I think my being so over my job is kind of helping me seem more confident. I gave some pushback in a big fancy meeting this morning, and it totally worked.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Very general article on kids growth norms and basic info: [link]

but this: "No one knows what causes a kid to shoot up one month and not another, but there does seem to be a seasonal pattern. "Although we don't have a good explanation for it, children seem to grow fastest in the summer and slowest in the fall," says Joseph Gigante, M.D., associate professor of pediatrics at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville."

makes me a wee weary as mac has grown almost a full inch since Dec. That is a faster pace than his first spring/summer in the US.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Very general article on kids growth norms and basic info

That article was giving me serious deja vu until I realized it was reprinted from Parenting magazine. (I'm not going crazy, I really had read it before. Whew!)

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

Aimee has the perfect alarm clock.

Me.

I even have snooze capability. "You want another few minutes?"

"Yes, please."

"*sigh* Fine."

I think the thing that finally gets her out of bed (after two or three "Yes, please"s) is the sound of my teeth grinding.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.
