They can get someone like me and mentor her or him up into what they're looking for, but obviously they don't have the patience for that; what they want, they can't get. No wonder the fucking job was open for over a year. Fuckers.
Good. Fuck 'em. Roll around in the schadenfreude.
IOTrivialN, Electric pencil sharpeners are awesome!
Do people use non-electric pencil sharpeners anymore? I mean, when they're not typing on a computer, texting, etc?
Yes. Public school, man. I'm surprised we don't still use ditto machines.
What was your favorite school supply? Mine were:
- pencil sharpeners
- mechanical pencils
- pen with multi-colored ink
- pencil tray with roll-top cover

I have two at home: one for my pencils, and one for my eyeliner.
Ooh, I want a pencil tray with a roll-top cover.
I use a hand pencil sharpener for my fabric marking pencils, because I can control the sharpness better. Also for eyeliner.

The big fat 4-colored ballpoint pen with the 4 separate clicky-things on the end? I loved those. My very favorite school supply, though, was the compass.
God, I miss that smell.
YES!!!
I love the smell of a hand crank pencil sharpener. I have my great-grandmother's hand crank pencil sharpener. ALL metal. Nary a plastic part. You can take the cover and bang the shit out of it against the garbadge can when it gets really full and cram packed and no dents or breakage.
....
I had no idea I loved my pencil sharpener this much.
