Hey, I've been in a firefight before! Well, I was in a fire. Actually, I was fired from a fry-cook opportunity. I can handle myself.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

So who's ever made pot roast in a slow cooker? Can I just throw some stuff in and call it good?

I do it all the time. This my favorite:

Layer in the crockpot thusly:

Baby Carrots
Quartered Onion
Roast (seasoned with pepper and garlic powder)

Over all of this I pour one can of Campbell's Golden Mushroom and one can of beef broth and then let it cook all day on low.

Nom nom nom.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Also, I didn't mean that the fact that Sophia's boss wears an 8 is offensive.

Hee. It really isn't offensive, and she isn't trying to be offensive, and I really don't care that I wear that size, but it is sort of the same feeling you get when students say things like "That person is REALLY old" and you ask how old and they say, I don't know, 25!"

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I see Ohio is expecting snowpocalypse. I'm sure there is currently a stampeded to the stores for bread, milk and toilet paper.

The weather dudes are saying 5 to 7 inches today, and 5 to 7 more tomorrow. This would not be the first time I would be disappointed after promises like that.

(Though it is snowing right now, but I don't think it's going to be as bad as they're saying.)

We're getting snowpocalypsed right now. I made it in to work at 9:30, only to be told "Oh, hi, yeah, we're going to close at noon." Which, cool, I'll get some work done and go home.

Then the server crashed (yet again) at 10:30, so we got sent home right then. Long day, man. I went to Trader Joe's to stock up on storm supplies (salsa, tortilla chips, bagels, fancy cheese, sushi -- the basics), and then slooooooowly crept home.

People in Cincy just can NOT drive in the goddamn snow, I tell you what.

So now I'm at home with a dog on my feet and a cat on my lap. I think I might go take a nap.

It's like, my favorite thing ever. You can put red skin potatoes in there, too if your pot's big enough. I need one of those ginormous ones. And the soup after cooking all day makes an awesome gravy.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Right -- the kind of thing that people out of their teens should KNOW BETTER about.

Gah. Very little makes me regret falling in love with, and then moving in with, a vegetarian, but that pot roast sounds So. Damn. Good.

Bah.

I was wishing I could have stayed home today. I spent too much time on the computer before getting ready for work, and just as I put on my sneakers and was standing up to leave the bedroom and head out the door, my cat strolled in looking for some petting. I wanted to stay and snuggle, but I was running late. I think she knew that, so, of course, she kept weaving around my feet, jumping on the counter while I tossed my lunch in my tote, and then watched me put my coat on and meowed plaintively as I closed the door behind me.

I didn't want to go!!
