God, I think I just got officially re-addicted to photography. We don't want to know how much I've spent in the last 24 hours, and how much more I still see myself spending. But I need to get re-acquainted with the basics. Digital point and shoot has taken me away from the math of the whole thing, and I need to get back there.
My apartment is in a mess because of the whole photography thing. Tripods or light stands everywhere. It no longer looks like a home. I feel very unwomanly.

In the case of the Israeli kibbutzim (collective farms), children were reared somewhat communally in peer groups - groups based on age, not biological relation.
