Illyria: Wesley's dead. I'm feeling grief for him. I can't seem to control it. I wish to do more violence. Spike: Well, wishes just happen to be horses today.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Re: the primary season that never ends...

One idea that I keep seeing floating around the blogosphere is that if the Dems enter the convention with Hillary and Obama essentially tied (which is looking more and more likely), that the party might draft Al Gore as a sort of unity candidate.

Leaving aside the issue of whether it'll happen and whether he'd say yes...would this be a good thing? I'm torn. I'd certainly vote for him in a heartbeat--if he'd been in the race, he would've been my first choice. But would there be anything remotely democratic about having a nominee who wasn't on the primary ballot?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Look at this.

I am humbled by this woman. Every day she managed to pick her camera up and do something with it.

Our wings are not tired.

I have big Al Gore love, but I think the chances of this are about zero. Then again my history of predicting these things is pretty close to zero too.

That is a great set. As is yours! I only managed about a week. Maybe I'll try again this summer when things are calmer.

Because books.

Wow. She takes great photos, light and shadow contrast, and interesting composition. I can't even take pictures of other people like that, much less timed self-portraits.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

Every day she managed to pick her camera up and do something with it.

Amazing. I feel like I should get my camera out and at least try.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I could contribute some Jonathan Coulton songs to the earworm discussion. (We're going to see him Friday, so I fully expect to have a number of his songs stuck in my head afterwards)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

We're going to see him Friday

So jealous!

Eventful keeps sending me "Jonathan Coulton is playing in your area!" notices and then when I click through, it turns out he's playing in, like, Philadelphia. Which is not what I consider "my area," since I live in BROOKLYN. WHERE HE ALSO LIVES. LESS THAN A MILE FROM HERE.

Guy needs to book some hometown shows is all I'm saying.

D is failing to fall asleep in his room right now. He's probably standing up in his crib, since I can hear him yelling. But since he bit me earlier (three guesses where and the first two don't count), I'm inclined to let him cry it out a little longer.

Oh wow, Allyson, that's awesome!

I had other thoughts. Work ate them.

Pictures pretty?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Okay, I need some help. How do I tell when a pecan pie is done?
