It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I am realizing that there's probably no such thing as Icelandic-style yogurt, and it's a canny marketing ploy by a local dairy that realizes there's a segment of the populace that's looking for something snootier, fancier, more exotic and less peasanty than the really similar Greek-style. But it tastes real nice!

Leaving marketing aside, I cannot recommend the thick yogurt enough. Given that it's nonfat, I try to use it with anything that would normally take cream. Last night we made a flank steak and served it with a sauce of horseradish and yogurt (among some other things) and it was fucking great. Maybe later this week I'll make creamed spinach.

I also got some drink I never heard of before-- it claims to be fizzy, mango-flavored water (because water is healthful!), with a paragraph-long mission statement of healthiness and coolness on the label, but really it just tastes like Orange Crush. I am possibly too status-conscious at the deli.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Wouldn't Icelandic-style yogurt be made with like yak's milk or something? I mean, old-school style Icelandic.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Maybe reindeer milk?

I have emailed the yogurt company and asked if anyone here sells their yogurt.

cute mac statement of the week, for an art project at school: "I want to be president so I can make all of the rules."

Here is how much I don't want to do my work anymore: The arctic fox was apparently the only mammal native to Iceland, but people brought in Reindeer, and mice and mink and whatnot. [link]

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Iceland does not, to my knowledge, have any yaks. Or reindeer, for that matter. I believe the island has no native large fauna, so if there is anybody besides humans giving milk in all of Iceland, it is good old-fashioned cows, originally imported from Norway/Sweden/Scotland.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Here's the Book of the Year site, it awards "excellence in independent publishing."

Just got back from the pharmacy, he prescribed a non-narcotic pain reliever and a muscle relaxer. I have to miss work today and tomorrow to rest and because I can't drive with this medicine, and for no particular reason, feel tremendous guilt about it.

Nothing I can do about it. I can't sit or lie down. I can't breathe without pain. He said it's a spasm.

Standing is okay, so I'm typing standing up, waiting for the muscle relaxer to work so that I can get some rest.

Meara is totally right! The stuff is called skyr. This is what I bought: [link] You can see from the picture of the container it looks irresistible. But now I don't feel like I totally fell for marketing.

also, again last night mac claimed that the whole world was his something, but I now can't remember what it was.

I think I know what he's getting for his seventh, and it's headgear!
