Shit's all sorts of different now.

Wasn't there a case yonks ago about a runaway who was picked up by a police officer and allegedly assaulted, but then it turns out she wasn't?

ETA: Tawana Brawley! That was it.

The status is NOT quo.

I didn't get a weird vibe off him, Kristin. He was well-liked by kids. And he was known as a hard-ass disciplinarian; he became a Dean that handled all of the kids being referred out by teachers.
Interesting, Kat, and scary. I like the myth that I would "know" somehow if I worked with someone capable of kidnapping or assaulting a student; it's so unsettling to realize how little we really know about the people we work with.

It's sort of a clusterfuck of stupidity
Sounds that way. I am going to wait and see what happens since (as those above said) we don't have much to go on at this point.

By the way, I know your move is over, but I actually have some time this weekend if I can help you settle in at all. Unpacking is sometimes the hardest part, so let me know if I can help. (Or play with Noah while you and K. work.)

Called venue and confirmed that 2 forms of ID is pretty much a crock of shit unless you look underage or your ID is hinky, go team hates-to-talk-on-the-phone.

I mean, I figured as much, but a) I'm bored, and b) it's always good to check.

Today is Uno the Beagle Day in Illinois!

I heard him (and his trainer) being interviewed on the radio this morning, and he sounded very cute barking for his cookie. At the end, he leapt into the traffic reporter's lap unexpectedly, looking for some petting. They were saying how it seemed like everyone in the Tribune Tower had come over to peer at Uno through the studio windows.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Called venue and confirmed that 2 forms of ID is pretty much a crock of shit unless you look underage or your ID is hinky, go team hates-to-talk-on-the-phone.

I was also just thinking that I've often seen a credit card be OK as secondary ID. Since you probably won't also get a credit card under the name McLovin' or similar.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Not that anyone here is doing it, but it would be nice if people didn't treat me like a moron for calling the venue to find out about their ID policy.

Yeah, sadly, I'm wondering what the evidence is against the guy, other than her word...awful if it happened, but what are the chances she was just skipping saturday school, and when her parents came to find out, she made up some story? Or even, he DID force her into the car (not good), with the intent of taking her to saturday school?

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Allyson, congratulations!

MCR will just have to pick another super dramatic emotional song.

I want them to cover "Rock 'n Roll Suicide" by Bowie. Yes, I actually want a cover of a David Bowie song.

shrift, you're totally not a moron. Last live concert I went to, I think I confirmed the camera policy three different times.
