not your mom's socks.

Happy Belated Birthday Beverly!

Happy Birthday Jon!

Back from an all-day trip/meetings and now up with my brain whirring. Augh. Picked up new freelance. Yay. Returned from my work-release (ie: day off) to find moderate levels of hand-flapping. Nice.

Am amused re: the movers and hoping that the new roommate situation settles down for you Brenda. It's an awfully nice thing for you to do.

Also? continued fallout from not being very valentine-y last week but having a kid who appears to go to a 22-child preschool class that Is (was) Very Valentine-y. ::badmommyheaddesk:: It would be nice if they sent out something a couple days in advance that said:

Dear badmommy:

We'll be exchanging cards for valentine's day (heads up for those of you who have been sick/overworked, and/or attended preschools where this isn't so much of an EVENT, because it's a fake holiday, this is coming up soon) and wanted to let you know that the 22 students in the class and 4 teachers are named.... As well, please know that while it is fine to add candy to your valentine's card, some will be finding non-candy ways to deal with this non-holiday and you may want to think about that as you panic and run through the CVS the night before (or, in your case badmommy, the day after) grabbing whatever you can find. Please refrain from sending in anything that exceeds the size of a normal child's backpack. While we will not let your child eat anything they receive until you arrive, please know that they will have meticulously cataloged the contents of their valentine's day gift bag (provided by us) and will grab you at every opportunity to see if you can give them their barbie cinderella lollipop that you stuffed in the top shelf of the pantry, next to the winter holiday candy stash. In fact, you may want to check that stash to make sure it isn't a melty pile of goo.

Kthanxbye,

teh preschool staff.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

So it looks like there might have been a downside to sleeping all day...

t waves at tommyrot while hoping he's asleep

Sox, sorry about the V-Day mess and the melty pile of goo (is it OK that it sounds like something that's so much fun to say? "melty pile of goo"?).

ita, is there anything nice and relaxing and pleasant you can do while not being able to sleep?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Actually I'm going to give the whole sleeping thing another shot. The meds are pretty forgiving that way.

Nice to see you, though, and good to get in an early happy birthday wish for Jon.

And a no less loudly yelled belated one for Beverly.

Hope that sleep thing works for you.

And it's good to "see" you, too.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Belated birthday wishes from me (though on-time ones to Jon). I really am going to do a better job of keeping up, at least as soon as my third class ends.

On March 25th. Do you think I have it marked on my calendar? You might just be right....

Happy birthday, Jon!

Now tagless for your comfort.

Happy Birthday, Jon!

Sox, I was checking Owen's backpack for school yesterday and found his Valentine treats from his class party. I totally spaced and forgot to send ANYTHING--and there are only six kids in his class. I felt like a giant ass because, yes, I HAD gotten notice of a Valentine's party before last Thursday and still failed to send anything.
