I went to Trader Joe's and started some laundry and realized that my house is a MESS. So there will be vacuuming shortly, when I can crawl off the couch. And later I'm going to see Persepolis at the Parkway with Java Cat.

I've got this lingering sinus infection (I think) which is just sort of sitting there: it's not making me sneeze or cough or blow my nose too much, but I'm exhausted all the time and I just can't drag myself out of bed in the morning. So glad it's the weekend. Argh.

Yeah, and I remember when my last company started requiring the insurance from our contractors, and a few of the people I work with had to try to find it, which was apparently a bit of a pain...they were mostly incorporated for tax reasons (stuff like the company bills for their time, and then pays them a salary, etc etc). It makes sense, but because I am not incorporated, do not have an accountant, etc, it may be more trouble than it's worth. Sigh.

Meara, your unemployment insurance won't stop--temp jobs are treated differently, for one thing. But an unemployment insurance claim actually has a lifespan of one year - dipping in and out of that year into employment situations of the temp variety doesn't affect it. Well, it does affect it in that during the weeks you temp, you don't collect unemployment checks. But they start up again as soon as temp job is done.

both. sounds like you'd be an independent contractor, which could be sweet. It's pretty easy to incorporate yourself, there are online kits or you can buy a book at any bookstore. If you were still here, I'd offer to do it for you. But, alas, you are not.

Honorable Mention: Finishing our taxes and discovering the government owes us the Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything. Which is a big improvement over last year, when we screwed up our withholding and owed them $2000 or so.

One of my co-workers has been out of the office yesterday and today getting Lasik surgery, and I just left her a question about some pages on her desk that I printed after applying a Photoshop blur to to make them unreadable.
