We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Aurelia, thanks. I think that my problem would be that I am a very visual person; I have a hard time aurally. I also think I would have a hard time giving specific feedback on the writing/mechanics aspect of the papers. I'll keep it in mind, though, especially if the pain doesn't abate. Because ow.

If the papers are submitted electronically, you can use voice recognition software to enter comments in the electronic file. This makes grading undergraduate papers much less tiresome.

The downside is that it takes some time before the voice recognition software really understands you. It took me forever to get the microphone to work well enough for the sofware to understand me, but I'm guessing that you have an advantage there.

The upside is that you can program in codewords for frequently used comments. So if I say "c-z-14" it inserts the instructions for reporting electronic sources in APA style. C-z-1 through cz-4 are from Strunk and White. With this system it looks like you are working much harder than you really are.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

New thread!

I blame P-C for making me watch clips from FAME on YouTube and then wander off to IMDB, where I discovered that Gene Anthony Ray died of a stroke in 2003.

This makes me sad.

I am a lazy person today. At least I walked the dog and vacuumed the living room.

I've been more productive already today than I was all day yesterday, but now my head is starting to hurt again, so I think it might be nap time.

Yaaaay, students gone!

Now I have to see whether or not I can keep my resolution to stay an extra hour and actually get prep work done. Must do better about prep!

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

This weekend I did 7 loads of laundry, cleaned two bags of trash out of my closet, got a new IKEA bookshelf (assembled and in order), paid all my bills, and made a roasted chicken dinner...in between hiding under my covers and watching terrible horror movies.

I would like a cookie, now.
