Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

Does anyone else think this is a strange photo to use for this story?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Jilli, I seem to remember you taking once about painting your nails with both red and black nail polish. Was it one layer of each? Which one was first?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

An hour a week to be loved and pampered and prettied, for free! There is no downside.

For real. You work hard! You should take that hour.

Someone has to write in about the muffins.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I painted my toenails last night because of you people! Thanks. red nails make me happy.

I had acrylics in college, loved them. can't really justify the expense right now, but my nails are a mess.

Huh. Any math-istas in the house? I'm puzzled by high-school algebra. Are there extraneous solutions to sqrt(x+3) = sqrt(6)?

ETA: I'm blaming the drugs, if anyone asks.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

You should go for it, Laura. I think it would be happy-making.

BTW I loved your LJ post on loving your boys. I keep thinking about it whenever I'm sitting around snuggling/tickling/all-around adoring my kids.

Punishingly Intricate

She was really pressuring me yesterday that I had to give her an hour a week. One week pedicure, next week facial, next week massage, etc. She's had the salon 2 years now and I think I have gone 5 times. The girl has a point. An hour a week to be loved and pampered and prettied, for free! There is no downside.

There REALLY isn't! Am so jealous!!!

My best friend in SF is an aesthetician and, if I was still out there, I know I'd be getting regular free or reduced rate beauty upkeep and pampering. Here I have finally assembled a team of professionals who I really love but unfortunately don't have the funds to use their services as much as I'd like.

I'm too much of a spazz plus lazy plus impatient to mani/pedi myself or do my own brows. I rarely get my fingernails done but try to always have a decent pedicure going in sandal weather. But I think my feet are kind of misshapen and ugly even with pretty nails (issues!).
