You should go for it, Laura. I think it would be happy-making.
BTW I loved your LJ post on loving your boys. I keep thinking about it whenever I'm sitting around snuggling/tickling/all-around adoring my kids.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

She was really pressuring me yesterday that I had to give her an hour a week. One week pedicure, next week facial, next week massage, etc. She's had the salon 2 years now and I think I have gone 5 times. The girl has a point. An hour a week to be loved and pampered and prettied, for free! There is no downside.
There REALLY isn't! Am so jealous!!!
My best friend in SF is an aesthetician and, if I was still out there, I know I'd be getting regular free or reduced rate beauty upkeep and pampering. Here I have finally assembled a team of professionals who I really love but unfortunately don't have the funds to use their services as much as I'd like.
I'm too much of a spazz plus lazy plus impatient to mani/pedi myself or do my own brows. I rarely get my fingernails done but try to always have a decent pedicure going in sandal weather. But I think my feet are kind of misshapen and ugly even with pretty nails (issues!).

Thank you, Burrell. It was an accident that it wasn't marked private since that is how I generally use LJ. When I noticed it was posted I almost changed it, then decided to just let it go.
In the first week of March, I now am going to four concerts and a Blackhawks game.

Laura, I meant to say the same. Your post was so beautifully heartfelt. I really enjoyed reading it.

Please, somebody, speed up this day! I don't know how long I can hold out! I'm Ms. MouthBreather McSicky over here, and all I want to do is sleep!
I would also like to sleep. At night would be better than the current system, but I'm not going to be picky at this point.
On a completely different note, how is it that people in the Bay Area have not figured out that if you are driving at freeway speeds, and cars start disappearing into the fog after about 50 feet or so, it's time to turn your fricking lights on?

'Cause California drivers are, like, the worst ever?
I know the conversation moved on long ago, but I was offline for several days (errands plus 2 sick days for respiratory ick) and just saw while zipping through so fast that it can barely be called skimming --
Many sympathies on your cat, Gloomcookie. It's hard to get a cat in late stage kidney failure to eat. What we did with Teddy was to get a large number of types of food -- moists, drys, baby food, even special ordered a calf's kidney from a grocery store. And whatever he ate, we'd give him more of. For a while, we were giving him what Hubs called "smorgasbord" because it was little dabs of half a dozen things at once.
Admittedly, this approach works a little better if you have another cat(s) that will eat whatever the sick cat won't eat.
