But gravy IS gooey. It's thick and pastey in the way a bad pudding can be.

Because books.

But .. it shouldn't be! Not good gravy, anyway.

information libertarian

I like crunchy salty foods AND sweet gooey foods.

God, now I want some potato chips and a hot fudge sundae.

ETA: I agree that good gravy is not gooey or pasty or in any way like pudding.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My main childhood food memory: when I would get a good report card, my parents would take me where ever I wanted for dinner. For many years, that was fast food, because we didn't have it often. When I was like 12, I decided I wanted to go to a super-fancy Boston restaurant. Hey, the deal was, I got to pick! So I ordered all the fancy stuff -- escargot, steak au poivre -- and hated ALL OF IT. Oops.

But if you have food texture issues, the difference between gravy and puddings is not that great. If the TEXTURE is actually the issue more than the taste. I'm saying this as a person with gooey food texture issues. I don't like foods with a lot of gravy (i.e. most chinese food) because it's too gooey and pudding like.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

But gravy IS gooey. It's thick and pastey in the way a bad pudding can be.

That's, in my book, bad gravy. It might be good sauce, but it's bad gravy. Gravy is meat juice, not meat custard.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

I want some potato chips and a hot fudge sundae.

But, do you want them together at the same time?

ETA: I agree that good gravy is not gooey or pasty or in any way like pudding.

Gravy is meat juice, not meat custard.

Gravy is meat juice + cornstarch or flour to thicken. It should be noted paste can be made with flour or cornstarch.

Meat juice = yummy au jus.
