The "c" in "victuals" is silent, right? I guess that mispronuciation falls in line with the plot of this ep of Trek.

EW's in-the-press-room Oscar story:
Asked about whether [Hansard]'d go back to busking (i.e. singing on the street), he answers that he was just doing that a few months ago in Barcelona: ''It's a great way to get to know a city.''
9:33 p.m. Perhaps because his role in There Will be Blood is the most richly, darkly serious in a group of five serious Best Actor nominees, most of the questions to Daniel Day-Lewis are almost determinedly light-hearted. Have you been offered a lot of complimentary milkshakes? ''I'm very much looking forward to all the milkshakes I'm going to have over the next 25 years.'' What do you do for a laugh? ''The great thing about that is I don't have to talk about it. I'm not telling!' Oh, why not? ''Because it's none of your f---ing business!'' (He says this with a wry smile.) Are you aware how big the milkshake line has become? ''I am completely aware of it. I think it's fantastic. I mean, if people absorb something that you've done, if that gets absorbed into the culture in such a way that people can make something else from it, that's delightful to me.... We call it ''slagging'' in Ireland, taking the piss in England.'' Why did you kiss George Clooney on your way to the Oscar stage? ''Because George has been there for me, and he was the closest fellow nominee.... George is just so incredibly generous. He's a great guy, really. I had to kiss someone. I kissed my wife, and in the interests in parity, I kissed him too.''
Yeah, and I realize I started fretting at 11:25 because last year, didn't they have like 17 montages and 3 honorary awards in between the lead actor awards and best picture? At least they didn't do that!
I think that they created all of those montages to use as filler if the writer's strike lasted, and now they said "well, we made 'em, let's use em"
A montage unused is an unspeakable tragedy....
Am so tired. Had to stay up to watch all the Oscars because once I start I can't stop but I was out at dinner for the first 90 minutes or so. And yet only ended up maybe 20 minutes behind at the end. Due to ff-ing through commercials and boring parts! but, still, am so tired.
So, Josh Brolin? He must be short with the most ginormous head ever. He wasn't that much taller than James McAvoy who is tiny but his head was like 3 times as big.
I kind of loved Marion Cotillard's dress even if it was fish scaley.
NYT Oscar slideshow, color-coordinated.
Our 11 o'clock all-staff meeting got cancelled, so I can just screw around until noon, right?
Is everyone just sleepy today from staying up to watch the Oscars?
I did not stay up, but I taped the rest of them.
why does Forest Whittaker look like Redd Foxx in that red carpet photo?
I kind of loved Marion Cotillard's dress even if it was fish scaley.
I agree -- but I think it had a lot to do with the woman who was wearing it. She wore the dress, it didn't wear her, etc., etc.
Someone please tell the people who work for me that I'm not going to chase down information for them -- if you want to go to a conference, spell out to me what it's going to cost. If you make me do it, I might accidentially on purpose forget to budget a hotel room for you.
