The Minearverse 6: Fiery Thread of Death
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath. Oh, and help us get Terriers dvds!
Gotta hand it to Marie Laveau, she doesn't pull her punches when she decides it is
on.
But would LaLaurie's daughters be anything more than skeletons after 18 decades of decomposition in southern Louisiana?
So are we thinking Hank is a serial killer in general, or is this something caused by the dark magic he and Cordelia used to try and conceive?
I'm not sure what the deal is with Hank. Is he really Hank, even? i.e. is he scamming Cordelia, too? Or maybe doing sex magic with someone means you're a little closer than that?
I can't see him as a serial killer, really -- he killed that girl execution-style. I just don't get why.

You can't have three big Piles o'Dust show up on the porch, though.

I KNOW. I don't know why. And it was nice to see Alexandra Breckinridge (hot Frances Conroy) again, this time with actual lines.
And the random eye assault! What was up with that?
Also, Spaulding hugged a scarecrow. That happened.
I do love Marie Laveau and her zombie army. This episode fleshed out a lot about how this world of witches works, with the truce and the Council and the academy and stuff.
Looks like they're doing another Halloween two-parter. Did last season have a Halloween episode? Or just Christmas?
Frances Conroy was awesome. Such a change from her first season character.
It's hard to picture Lana and Sister Jude when Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson have their scenes together this season, too. The dynamic is completely different.
The eye assault is confusing, only because someone had to know they were at that bar to carry it out. Why not wait till they're home and let the zombies get them, too? But also, why not wait till you can also attack Fiona? Unless they have something even bigger and badder planned for her, I guess.
But would LaLaurie's daughters be anything more than skeletons after 18 decades of decomposition in southern Louisiana?
Try 366 days - you can bury another family member in the same tomb a year and a day later - I think what's left is bones at that point. The tombs are pretty... oven-like (and that's just from being in a New Orleans cemetary in July - St. Louis #1 is literally the hottest place in the city). /NOLA trivia
In terms of AH:Coven. Hubby has done this before. His comment about going last Halloween as a "monster" makes it pretty clear that this is at minimum a Halloween ritual for him. Perhaps it is part of a spell Fiona cast for him, which would explain why she does not like him being with her daughter, and why she won't explain why she does not like him being with her daughter. Not that Fiona does not seem to prefer lies to truth in almost every circumstance.
Also, if Fiona is not dumb as a post, she is careless to the point that amounts to the same thing.
For example: she digs up Madame, without even considering the possibility that this might have something to do with Laveau. She definitely knows about the treaty, and how staying off one another's territory is the main agreement. But having taken something of Laveau's, she walks onto Laveau's personal property without notice, is rude as shit to Laveau's people, and even ruder to Laveau with the "hammer and nails" remark. How else is Laveau going to take this but as a declaration of war? Yet Fiona seems to have done all this just as a way of trying to gain immortality with no intent of declaring war. She just assume Laveau was going to bow down before her, and sell her immortality - at a very high price no doubt. She is too arrogant for elementary diplomacy: "Hey, I unintentionally picked up something of yours, without realizing it belonged to you. Should I return it to your place? Or would you prefer to send someone or something to mine?" Once that is cleared up she could arrange a meeting where Laveau might be willing to do business.
Also, she didn't even check medical records before murdering Madison? She may have grown old, but she really managed to avoid growing up.

I think that's sort of a giant leap to take. We've seen him do this once, and we don't even know why he does it.
I'm betting it was not the first time. Yeah my guess as to how often and why is pure speculation - though I think this kind of speculation is part of the fun. But he has done this before, whatever the reason turns out to be.
I don't know that it's this, exactly. I kind of expect not. But the remark about being a monster last year was extremely pointed. Dude's got something dark going on.
