Buffy? I like that. That girl's so hot, she's buffy.

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath. Oh, and help us get Terriers dvds!

I was disturbed by the extreme violence of the cold open but not surprised because I'd heard this show gets it on and cracking, but at least here in LA, the first broadcast was at 7:00 pm. I found that to be a little much. I'm all for parents controlling what their kids watch, but 7:00 is officially the family hour. I wouldn't want my pre-teen/early teenage kid to stumble across that show when surfing during what I thought was family time. It was a lot for 7:00.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

but at least here in LA, the first broadcast was at 7:00 pm.

That's the East Coast feed. The show airs at 10:00 PM.

Still. I was shocked. Maybe they should just not air the show that early out here? I don't even know if that's possible, and they did have a lot of parental warnings, but...I found that the most disturbing thing.

Also, I assumed dude was actually turned into a Minotaur, but I don't think they established it clearly either way. I wonder if he's still alive, too.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It was a lot for 7:00.

Oh yeah.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Maybe they should just not air the show that early out here?

I don't know if FX can be held responsible for what the cable company (not mine! why not mine???) is doing, though. They made a show for 10.

Yeah, that is not a complaint against the show. Like I said, I was disturbed by the violence, but I imagine I was supposed to be. I also wasn't surprised because I'm a grown up (sometimes) and I choose to watch the show. Huge party foul on Direct TV for not pre-empting the 7:00 pm showing. Just way too intense for that time slot.

I think they have a blanket decision with an East Coast feed. I'd be surprised if they got into each show separately.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

DirecTV has parental controls. I don't use them, but I'm pretty sure you can block anything that's rated Mature (or whatever the rating system is, I don't pay attention).

Because books.

The cold open was brutal. Even I was surprised, and I watched last season. Definitely looking forward to the season, though.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Given that television is becoming more and more an untimed thing, I think the parental controls are key if there are people in your home whose viewing habits are your responsibility.

We have dvrs, Hulu, and many more streaming options. Just because a show was initially shown as a 10 p.m. show, that's probably not when a lot of people watch it or have access to it. The original air time feels less and less meaningful.

Which is my reaction to television in general because there's no way in hell I am ever watching any AHS. I don't do horror scary and AHS seems very, very good at horror scary.
