I liked Chicago Code a lot. Not as much as Boomtown, but still, I would have enjoyed another season.
The Minearverse 6: Fiery Thread of Death
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath. Oh, and help us get Terriers dvds!
I'm nowhere near as bitter about Chicago Code (got it right this time) as I was about Terriers. Which still isn't out on DVD. Grumble grumble.
Granted, they weren't really the same kind of show, so probably not a fair comparison.
I am really bitter about Terriers.
I can't work out what sort of show Chicago Code would have been in its second season. Courtroom drama? Cop show with different focus?
I'm not saying that I'm proud or that it is fair, but I think my bitterness over Terriers was a factor in not enjoying Chicago Code. I've recorded it to watch when I have less baggage. I'm ready to like the next show.
to tell you the truth, I think Chicago Code was on the wrong network. I bet if it were on CBS it would have succeeded.

It probably would have been at least partly a courtroom drama, because I can't see Gibbons giving up that easily. I wouldn't have been surprised if he ended up hiring that obnoxious defense attorney who went off on Wynsocki's niece and her partner, and made that comment to Wynsocki about seeing him again soon.
Which still isn't out on DVD.
Still? It's only been six months.

From what Ryan's said, there would have been a new investigation/villain in S2. Lindo might have made an appearance or two but he was not going to be a regular.
Lindo was really good in that role, but I have to give the MVP to the woman who played his assistant. She was frighteningly good.
I would love to hear from Chicagoistas if Biels' accent was a good one. I certainly bought it.
She's from Chicago, so... yeah. Some people in some parts of the city sound like that.
