Rescue is on FX and is on Hulu so I checked. Terriers is:
'Our Mrs. Reynolds'
The Minearverse 6: Fiery Thread of Death
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath. Oh, and help us get Terriers dvds!
I liked it! It feels very...sure of itself. I don't know, it has a Thing, and it does it well. It's not Trying Too Hard; it just Is. And Donal Logue is great.
Plus, C-Note as a cop!
I'm not loving it. I find the characters irritating. I want to like it, but I don't. I will, however, give it another few eps, as the pilots tend to be filled with hyperbole and very obvious ideas to get through to the idiot studio execs.
I'm pretty pleased with it so far. Really enjoyed the fight in the parking garage, and the partner's fancy dinner out with his girlfriend (complete with bartering).
Someone on Whedonesque mentioned a Veronica Mars vibe, and I guess I can see that. Outcast private eye whose investigation into a friend's murder leads him to the richest and most powerful man in town.
I was a bit thrown by them sitting down and telling the Evil Overlord that they were onto him, knew what he was planning, and that they were going to Destroy Him! (dun, dun, dun!!). Considering that the Evil Overlord has money, influence and henchmen who will kill for him, that seems less bravado and more stupidity.
Yeah, that was quite ballsy, especially for small-timers...who are maybe big-time and don't know it!
And it is probably a set-up for a lot of PAIN in the future.
yep. you know the wife is gonna bite it.
Or the girl friend.
