I've decided that the show is trying everything it can to get me to stop watching for a while. And it's working.
The Minearverse 6: Fiery Thread of Death
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath. Oh, and help us get Terriers dvds!
I've decided that the show is trying everything it can to get me to stop watching for a while. And it's working.
Yep.
It's all going so slowly...which, okay, soap. But all of the storylines seem to be whinier than ever. More whine, less story.
After seeing Rena Sofer on Bones the other day, I realized how much I missed fun characters like Lois and Ned and the Qs. (And Lucy... so much fun, but she could bring on the drama when needed.)
I haven't followed GH for several years now. Every once in awhile I'll catch an episode, but it seems to be the same thing every single time... Sonny, Sonny, Sonny. I really think they need to just kill him off to get the show back on track.
Well they are demonizing Sonny pretty hardcore these days. Frankly, I like the character but I am starting to dislike watching. They've written themselves into so many corners and can't seem to get out. So they recast. And then seem shocked when that doesn't magically change what they wrote.
I miss Rena Sofer too. This is why uploaded clips on YouTube are our friends.
I totally agree. Corners, they have been painted into.
Even the Christina storyline seems cast in stone. The educational aspect of it has been lost completely and now it's being shunted off into a murder trial. Ack.
The repetition of 'it's not your fault' is getting uber-grating.
You know. Ima declare it here. We're through GH. It was fun for little while but I'm just not fulfilled anymore. There are plenty of others who will worship at your altar of mediocrity. For me? No more!
I'm going to count on the faithful in this thread to let me know if I'm missing anything good.
Cheers.
Well, Skye and Helena and Luke with Tracy in the mix are entertaining. And there is hope for more Q with the great grand kids moving in.
I'm still a week or so behind so the eps go fast for me. It is also possible that I nod out some while watching since it is usually really late.
Although I am behind, I still enjoy it enough to keep watching. I watch during lunch or when I am too tired to read before bed. It purges my mind of my daily stresses, helps me relax and unwind.
I want to get back to this place. I started feeling involved and that just leads to stress because it's not my happy show just now.
I watch a whole week at once, often. Between skipping past commercials, trials and boring-to-me bits, it's still a fast watch.
I don't mind what they are doing with Christina. She's dealing and admitting how messed up things were and, let's be honest, teenagers are a messed up bunch. So if any are watching, hey, a few minutes a day to tell the women that they are not punching bags and the men that neither are they? I am happy to give them that. Really, I wanted to bitchslap Sam over the whole thing but I've got a lot more patience with Christina being all over the place.
Helen Wagner (Nancy Hughes on As the World Turns) passed away. She holds the record as the actress to have played the same role on a soap the longest.
I still feel so weird coming in here with soap announcements. This week begins the story line of Alice's Death on Days of Our Lives. Actors start coming back this week and learning she is in bad health. I don't know the dates of when anything significant is going to happen.
ION,We need more Tim.
Oh dear, I am going to try and watch DOOL again. Has to be on a delay basis because fast forward will be required. Still, I expect a lot of lovely flashbacks.
