I've been meaning to ask our H'wood Buffistas about this.
After the last strike, supposedly a tsunami of scripts hit the town when it was over, as the writers polished old scripts and worked on stuff on their own.
Any sign of the same is happening now?
I'm honestly not sure if there has been/will be a flurry of new specs hitting the market. (I do know that UA was deluged with scripts after they signed the interim deal with the WGA. But I'm not sure if those were brand new specs or what.)
I've talked to a lot of writers who didn't write at all during the strike. I would suspect that, if there is a flurry of specs, it will hit in March. After us non-writing folks finish the things we started when the strike ended.
Kristen, I have been skipping and such, but I was under the impression you were a writing folk. Or am I confusing you with the other Kristen?
And the pretty is the only reason why I could ever figure Justin Bruenig got the AMC role.
Considering he started out as an Abercrombie & Fitch model, I suspect you are absolutely right!
CaBil, I think she meant currently employed, but I'm not Kristen so what do I know?
I was under the impression you were a writing folk.
You are not wrong. When I said non-writing folks, I meant writers, such as myself, who didn't write anything during the strike. I did write some grocery lists. But other than that, not a word until this week.
That was less about pencils down and more about strike weariness and writer's paralysis.
Ah, I gotcha. I understand. I just finished the 'word vomit' draft of my Serenity RPG adventure, and as I am bashing it up to first draft status, I am looking at it and feel the need to play Minefield, for, umm at least two weeks...
ETA, Needless to say, I don't have those two weeks built into my writing time...
I just cleaned old files off of our web server and reset our spam filters.
Hah! I am not sure that counts, that almost sounds like a reasonable use of time!
I like how Kristen's "writing" process makes things easier for me.
Although she still hasn't taken me up on my offer to let her rearrange my closets.
