But? There's always a but. When this is over, can we have a big 'but' moratorium?

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

You talked me down from the ledge that one time with the apples, so that was good.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

The fans-made-the-movie-happen thing was a marketing pitch. Universal actually came up with it - it started in the press material given out for the movie, several press people mentioned it, the ball rolled. There's no harm in it, but it's just not based on fact. I'm honestly not sure where the DVD thing came from, but Joss has said in interviews since DVD didn't make the movie happen. Although people have just ignored it and still say the DVD made it happen.

Fans certainly made bits of the marketing happen for the movie. I can say that as a fact, as I was the person behind the SerenityMovie.com Browncoat community for Universal.

There's an interview with Joss in this mpnth's Maxim about Dollhouse where he says "it was my idea to reshoot the pilot and reorder things", so at least that's on record.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

And as we all know that makes it fact.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Joss has been saying that from the beginning, though. When he tried to preempt the freakout on Whedonesque, that's what he said. Of course, it could have just been damage control.

I'm only talking about reshooting the pilot, though. That I remember. I don't remember what he said about reordering episodes.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That's what he always says when Fox is fucking him over. And after it's canceled he'll vent spleen.

Trust my rage

there's no way I will believe it was his idea. If nothing else, the pilot just did not feel Joss-like. (don't ask me to explain how.)

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Well, he's vented spleen in a few of the Dollhouse interviews already - the Rolling Stone one is particularly brutal of FOX. It's not online, but a few choice quotes:

"It went well at first, then it went not so well. And the not-so-well is about them going 'You know, we don't really have room for these kinder, more contemplative stories'."

Regarding 'Ghost', he says "I knew Kevin Reilly would look at it and go 'You have to be fucking kidding me'".

Rolling Stone then say "Fed up the interface, Whedon shut down production of the show in September" and that "Fox didn't care about the feminist sub-text - it just wanted to crank up the volume". He told the network "I no longer know what you're going for".

But, yeah, I agree David.

Fox isn't fucking him over, though.

Totally. They're just trying to make it as accessible as possible.
