When we landed here you said you needed a few days to get space worthy again and is there somethin' wrong with your bunk?

The Minearverse 6: Fiery Thread of Death

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath. Oh, and help us get Terriers dvds!

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

IIRC, postponing "Serenity" was the only episode-airing decision made by FOX. Tim pushed back the airings of "Shindig" and "Safe," feeling that the audience really needed to understand the characters for those episodes,

Yep. And "Train Job" was written because of the need for a first new episode with "more action," and "Out of Gas" to fill in backstory.

The one decision caused a domino effect.

I wish I were better at Nilly-ing. I know we've had the "fans made Serenity happen" conversation at least once before.

Joss kind of glosses over the other reasons why the movie got made. "Fans" were only a very small part of it. But it does make a better story the way he tells it.

"Fans" were only a very small part of it.
So wait: It wasn't all for me?

Um. There was that one episode. Heck if I remember what it was about.

But come on! I uh ... huh. OK. Maybe it wasn't all for me.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

You talked me down from the ledge that one time with the apples, so that was good.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

The fans-made-the-movie-happen thing was a marketing pitch. Universal actually came up with it - it started in the press material given out for the movie, several press people mentioned it, the ball rolled. There's no harm in it, but it's just not based on fact. I'm honestly not sure where the DVD thing came from, but Joss has said in interviews since DVD didn't make the movie happen. Although people have just ignored it and still say the DVD made it happen.

Fans certainly made bits of the marketing happen for the movie. I can say that as a fact, as I was the person behind the SerenityMovie.com Browncoat community for Universal.

There's an interview with Joss in this mpnth's Maxim about Dollhouse where he says "it was my idea to reshoot the pilot and reorder things", so at least that's on record.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

There's an interview with Joss in this mpnth's Maxim about Dollhouse where he says "it was my idea to reshoot the pilot and reorder things", so at least that's on record.

And as we all know that makes it fact.
