Yep, that's what I do.
Y'know, I should look to see if there's a class on clothing alteration and tailoring that I can take. Because I do okay, but I bet there are a bunch of cool techniques I don't know.

ita and Jilli, I do the pin thing to maintain distance, then I do the wrap to create a snug shank, ,because I think the butto stays on longer. Then, if I'm super energetic, I dab a little of clear nailpolish on the thread to keep it there longer.
That's, of course, for no shank buttons. For shank buttons, I still do the wrap.
