The commercials will cost more, Laga. Advertisers complain that it is hard for their message to get across through the clutter and noise of too many different messages. It is believed that they will pay a premium for a less noisy spot.

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath. Oh, and help us get Terriers dvds!
Doesn't Fox (and the CW) normally have more commercials than the other three networks anyway?

will the commercials be longer? Less commercials, same length of break?
The breaks overall will be shorter.
When I watched Bones online last night, the show was only 43 minutes long. And, they had the SAME FUCKING COMMERCIAL every time. V. irritating.

gotcha. Thanks! Too much of the airline-talk in other threads making me suspicious on all fronts, I think.
How long did they space the showing out over? I don't know if I've watched anything online from that station, but usually the pickings are slim--maybe not the same ad every time, but mostly the same product. And although you can run, you can't hide the ads. I guess someone's got to pay for the shows, but why don't they try and take the edge off my resentment towards the ads themselves? Surely that will make for more effective advertising?

oh OK. That's makes sense. Fewer commercials makes the time slot more valuable.
It is all still an experiment, but an experiment that hopefully pleases advertisers and viewers alike.
loads of about five minutes per hour, about half the usual.
Are commercials normally only ten minutes per hour? Cause I'd swear they were closer to twenty... Maybe they just seem that long...
