A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Didn't used to be that way, but lately...
Not just me then. I can't decide if it is a function of maturity (and by maturity I only mean age, as in my middle aged-ness) or saturation.
Hey, I know this is probably the wrong thread for this question, but I know the bulk of David Tennant fans hang here, so here we go...
I'm looking for a particular clip from the miniseries Blackpool. I used to have the...ahemmed...show but it went away several used computers ago.
The speech I want comes just beyond the two thirds mark, I believe, and features David saying to his erstwhile lover:
"These are the things we won't do..."
While I'd love the clip, I would be fully satisfied with a transcript of the speech.
Can anyone help a sister out?
I can't decide if it is a function of maturity
Making those of us not at that point less mature?
By NO means. See my tardy edit.
I think I've either been so fascinated by angsty stuff in my youth that I overdosed and just don't have the neural receptors to process it without taking it on anymore, OR my life situation is so precarious in some ways that I'm overwhelmed by darkness in entertainment.
It's an interesting division between my best friend and I. She finds reality shows about OCD sufferers, interventions and folks being criticized for their appearance and fashion choices pure entertainment. I, on the other hand, can't seem to keep them from hurting my heart. I guess because I quite successfully deal with people's problems in real life and can do nothing for the folks I see on tv.
I'm just wondering when I'm going to stop being pissed they killed Ianto. That overshadows the angst of the rest of the ending for me.
As for the sadness of the end of Donna's run on Who, that was so bittersweet, because she was a hero, and then...nothing. But they like recycling there, so I think we will hear of her again, somehow. Somehow.
Hands up who's watching Vampire Diaries...I need to know who to ask how much it blows. Or maybe it could be the crack I need to replace 90210.
I'll probably watch it in train wreck fashion if I happen to channel surf past - after watching Jon Savage as a windbreaker-wearing Dracula who raps, I have no illusions about there being any barrel whose bottom I won't scrape for vampire fiction.

I am your kin in the barrel scraping but I seem to have missed this particular pinnacle.
I am watching Vampire Diaries right now. Not impressed yet.

Matt and I are as one in this. I'm looking forward to giggling through Vampire Diaries.
My newish LCD TV is not helping me suspend my disbelief that I am watching teenagers.
I was watching. Now I am just listening from the office. It is terrible, bit* the entertainingly terrible bits are interrupted by long bits that are just terrible and dull. The fog is definitely the best part.
