A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Does Mrs. Frederick's automatic warning message mean they have detectors that can read and measure the weird energies given off by artifacts, or are they just responding to the shutdown of the neutralizing system?
Unfortunately I think it's the latter.
God, Astrid on Fringe is totally wasted. She's not even properly straight man to Walter's craziness. But, at worst, she's really nice to look at.
They really should put the stuff in cages, or give the shelves some sort of lips so things can't roll off so easily. And in the dark vault, close things off so people can't look at them or touch them by mistake, why don't you?
If *I* had a life-force sucking typewriter, I might put it in a closet. Or surround it with a fence. Or, at the very least, stick it in a corner and cover it with a sheet. IJS.
ita,
the folks on racialicious have a real problem with how in the background Astrid is. They are not happy with this at all.
It got a bit better as the season went on and she wasn't automatically used for every experiment.

I don't think she's background because she's black. I just think they have written Walter so broadly, and Peter as his straight man that even Olivia tends to fade into the background in the lab unless she's the subject of the experiment--and Astrid never gets to leave the lab.
I think they have a hard time with her in the show because with her skills, she should have been more visible.
I'm so used to POC being backgrounded in scifi that I mostly shrug now. I'm so pleased she didn't die.
I'm pretty sure I have a life-force-sucking computer.
When Pete got stuck, I said, "They need me! I have enough Wellbutrin in my blood to fight the Plath field long enough to go in there and drag him out!" It's like a superpower I wasn't born with, like an adamantium skeleton.
I was thinking Myka should flash him her boobies. That should get at least a momentary reaction.
Couldn't she have tackled him out of the effect? Wasn't it looking at the typewriter that set it off?
I thought it was being within the circle. Hence, my fence.
I thought it was being within the circle
He looked at it and it got all wonky, which is why I thought it was set off by looking. Also, Myka or Claudia said something about them being sense-sensitive. Which is why I'd box them up.
I thought she'd said something about Pete "being in the circle." Though I could be remembering wrong what with all the snarking going on in our house.
