Yes, but what were the ratings for Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus and how sharp was the half-hour drop-off once everyone realized it sucked?

Years ago, I went to a thing where the head of SciFi development/programming/something spoke about the cheesy B movies they did. He said it was their bread and butter because they were super cheap to make and did well enough in the ratings with a certain demographics.

No idea how that fits in with the new SighFie image.

I certainly believe Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus was cheap to make. The biggest cost must have been the stock footage. And however much money it cost to purchase the actors' souls.

I assume "makes money for the network" fits in pretty well to any corporate image.

Are we sure that Debbie Gibson still had one of those to sell? I've seen the "Shake Your Love" video, after all, and if it didn't take a deal with the Devil to make that a hit, I don't know how to explain it...

Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus wasn't a Sci Fi Original it was direct to video. The big way to tell is the blanked out langauge. And the effects are usually better than this movie
