'Dirty Girls'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

We watched Virtuality. Meh. I think there are too many characters. They didn't spend enough time on any one of them, which made it difficult to care about any of them. Still, Clea DuVall!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Everyone knows it was supposed to be a pilot for a series, so the unfinished plotlines were on purpose. Sounds like it had potential!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

D'oh! I thought that was on tonight, not last night.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Warning: Some may consider this a spoiler, but with something this big I'm not sure one could avoid being spoiled.

I think that we've had this discussion before, and come down on the side of a spoiler is a spoiler, no matter how "big" it is. If you want to discuss the big spoiler, there's always Spoilers Lite.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If there's any room for debate on the is it or isn't it polarity, it would be around the announcement from the airing network.

Is the when and who of the next doctor still verboten? I forget if they're both still spoilery.

Well, I'm still looking at the definition of spoiler in our FAQ

Anything that hasn't been broadcast. So anything from the show and the preview trailers is okay, anything from TV Guide or anywhere else is a spoiler, including casting news, episode titles and plot twists. No white fonting. Spoilers should only be posted in the spoiler thread.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Okay, so I saw Virtuality. I didn't care for it. I agree that there were too many characters, but also the character who had a mid-ep personality transplant - we did not care enough about him (or know enough about him) to care about his personality transformation or his ultimate fate(s).

I also am wondering about Ron Moore's fascination with alternative realities. What does he find about the concept that is so compelling to him?

Well, we already horribly violate the no whitefonting rule, so we may need to examine our behaviour and the rules that are supposed to guide it. And "spoiler thread" should def be "spoiler threads," for maximal confusion.

Speaking of which, has Jekyll aired over here? I recently grabbed it from Netflix and really liked it. The first ep and a half especially were very creepy.
