The watershed in British tv is 9pm. It's the invisible dividing line between family and adult programming.
Most high-rated shows are actually pre-watershed, including all the soaps and Doctor Who. ITV are saying that they're no longer trying to compete with the BBC in the family Saturday Who/Robin Hood/Merlin slot, at least not with more drama. They'll probably slap on a reality show instead.

sigh ... I missed the last episode. My transition to digital, um, didn't. I think it's that I need a digital antenna. Most annoying. (What's actually MOST annoying is that in unplugging stuff, my DVD player now requires that I reset everything ... but without a TV signal it won't let me; so I've been deprived of TV and DVDs. boy do those diamond shoes pinch!)
