'Conversations with Dead People'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

No, you just push the button with the number they ask for. If they're overthinking it that much, they can find a stairwell themselves.

There was a whole horror movie based in the premise of the 13th floor that you can only sometimes get to. It was not very good.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

There was also the sci-fi movie The Thirteenth Floor, which I recall liking.

I learned on CSI that casino elevators have to take into account not only Western "bad" numbers (13), but also those of the Japanese and other cultures who are heavily represented in the Vegas tourist industry.

Ha, the one I was vaguely remembering is called The 13th Floor. Confuse them at your peril!

The peril of seeing an entirely different movie than you thought you were going to see, that is. Which is, I think, how I ended up seeing it in the first place.

It occurs to me that, because Paris doesn't really have skyscrapers, I have no idea if French office buildings skip the 13th floor. Of course, their 1st floor is our 2nd floor, and so on, so that could get very confusing.

Trust my rage

In Brazil, our apartment, which you pushed 2 to get to, was actually the fourth floor.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

This making me think of Being John Malkovitch and the 7 1/2 (??) floor. I love that movie - time for a rewatch!

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

So if someone gets in the elevator and you're standing in front of the buttons, and they ask you to push the button for the 17th floor, you're supposed to push the one labelled "18"? See, I can handle just not having a "13" button, but ... I don't think I can handle this. Good thing I don't have an office job in a skyscraper.

No, they have a dummy 13 button and light. If you tried to press it, it wouldn't light up.
