One other nitpick, a million light-years away isn't in the galaxy, it's in nowhere, middle of empty space, nada.
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I love Ginger. I want to be stranded with her after an apocalypse.
I feel a bit odd cutting in like this, but is anyone else interested in talking about Kings?
I will talk Kings with you. I thought last night's ep moved a bit too slowly. I think the pacing is off with this show.
I keep enjoying it somewhat against my will. The previews keep making it look banal but it impresses me.
I'm trying to figure out what Michelle's Shameful Secret is but haven't had any luck.
Also, I went to the Bible, thinking, Michelle is not a biblical name, and lo! David married Saul's second daughter, Michal!
(Why did they change the king's name, though? That's very confusing.)
I think Michelle is either: a) already married (which would probably speak to the Biblical version) or already promised to someone; or b) is supposed to go to a nunnery
I don't know - Saul is a perfectly good name.
Yes, it seemed like nothing happened yet it really held my interest. Which is odd.
I'm enjoying it a lot. I especially like the use of locations. Jazz at Lincoln Center's main performance space overlooking Central Park is gorgeous. It's hard for me to think of it, the exterior shots of the Althorp, the front stairs of the Brooklyn Museum and that balcony overlooking Central Park as all being in the same place as parts of one giant palace but I don't mind it.
I really didn't take Galactica as "technology is evil." They stopped carrying the last few pieces of a dead civilization. They'd given up most of it a while ago.
I would think about 37,800 people would elect to go for the shelter, running water, and electricity.
But are those options? After spending a year on New Caprica, with all their tech available, they were living in a tent city, running out of basic meds, and the people who presumably built & powered what little infrastructure they had were about to strike because of their working conditions. And a lot was left behind there.
I dunno. Imagine you're living in an overcrowded train boxcar, eating MREs, drinking and bathing with your ration of recycled water. Maybe you have a "job" shoveling coal, or repairing other cars, but most of you are just the cargo. For years, you're cargo. One day the train stops, and the conductor tells you that you can go. I don't know if most people's reaction would be, "And give up all this?"
I do worry that they sometimes forget that they've written Shiloh as being brand spanking new -- some of the buildings look pretty old.
