Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I probably shouldn't ask, but what was the point, within the context of this ep, of the scene with Lee and the pidgeon? Is it yet another instance of "we have NO IDEA what to do with Lee but he is contractually obligated to have a certain amount of screentime"?

Someone suggested that he killed Laura's family.

Art Crawl!!!

Oh, that's an interesting thought. Because all of those scenes, while interesting to a degree didn't really fit in.

I'm happy that we're going to get some pretty space battles in our last two hours.

Also - thank goodness that they got everyone to volunteer: without Racetrack and Skulls (not! dead) - how do they expect to find anything?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I don't think he killed Laura's family because the driver was in stable condition at the hospital. I think she would have remembered that upon meeting him.

Oh, that's right. And clearly, if he came home afterwards he probably wouldn't still be drunk.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I thought Lee's condition was the result of him learning about his brother's death.

Interesting.

Was the pigeon (rock dove) then a messenger?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Ooh, somebody over at TWOP pointed out that Gaius son of Julius Baltar parallels Gaius Octavius Caeser son of Julius Caeser.

Also - SCC: seemed like set up for the final few episodes, didn't it?

And I seriously thought that with John Henry and Savannah we were heading for a Frankenstein's Monster and the Little Girl situation.

Yep. Next week is when the shit hits the fan, I hear.

Yeah, I thought that would go to a freakier place than it did. But ha ha, the game. Oregano! Bird! I wonder what country he was thinking of. (I also loved how into it Catherine was. Tarragon! Antelope!)

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

No, it's maybe a nod to the famous names, but not a parallel. Gaius Octavius Thurinus became known as Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus after he was adopted by Gaius Julius Caesar.
