Does anyone know if/when the "Who" Christmas special will air here? Not a big one for aheming.
Also, am now fully caught up on "Battlestar Galactica." And ... wow. That's all I gotta say.
Book ,'Our Mrs. Reynolds'
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Neither SciFi or BBCA say anything about airing the Doctor Who special/s. Sciffy's schedule shows episodes of season 4 and season 2 airing through the end of January.
Well, last time we got Christmas in April. (I'm rewatching my tivoed BSG and seeing the Who promos.)
I'm so glad Who aired. Now to watch it myself. Also--I no longer have buyers remorse about the SG-1 set. Rewatching it has reminded me that it was some damn fine entertainment.

What a ride, eh?
I got a great kick out of the Christmas Who. I loved the steampunk Cybership, I loved David Morrisey as a potential Doctor. He had a warmth and charm I would have totally accepted as the eleventh Doctor even if it hadn't been a misdirect. And I, for one, didn't see enough of the trailers to know that it was. It was only when the fob watch fell apart and then the Doctor pulled out the stethoscope to check his heart(s) that I started having some suspicions that he wasn't. And I adored the balloon TARDIS! For me, the show had a good balance of slapstick and emo. It wasn't necessarily the most well written episode, but it hit all the right buttons at all the right times.
Defintely goes in the win column.
For those who have seen the Dr Who Christmas special, a bit of David Tennant and guest star in another series, not spoilery for the Dr. Who of course: [link]
DW Xmas special:
I enjoyed it- many nice moments, I loved the watch callback, the Next Doctor was marvelous, the villianess was beautiful and awesome. Silliness? Oh yes. But I never expect the plot to make much sense. I love Doctor Who for its little moments and the fact that I just love these people.
Also, they break my heart.
Also also, I loved the Doctor being the companion for the first bit of the episode.
Love. But I'm soooo easy that way with this show. Except the season finales.
I was just having a fun time trying to explain Capt. Jack's backstory and immortality to my BIL, who's only seen most of S2 of Torchwood and then bought the S1 set and is mostly through that one, but has seen no eps of Doctor Who. (He watched "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" only because of James Marsters--he's a big Buffy/Angel fan--and got sucked in.)
I went with "a 51st century conman who started out in the Time Agency, whatever the hell that is, and became immortal through the actions of Rose, the Doctor's companion, who brought him back to life after he was killed by a Dalek and he came back immortal. After the end of S1 of Torchwood, he showed up in a few eps of S3 of DW, and tried to figure out why he was immortal and if he could change that, and the Doctor pretty much shrugged his shoulders and said there was nothing he could do." If he wants more details, I can send him S1 of DW and copies of the S3 eps, since he's already got both seasons of Torchwood. He's yet to see "Adam," but he did see the finale, so he's got some of the brother stuff.
I don't know how to link it so b.org gets the affiliate credit, but I saw some really good deals on dvds over on Amazon. Supernatural seasons 19.99 (which IS better than what I paid), Firefly 19.99, Pushing Daisies 18.99 etc. Maybe this is fairly normal, I don't do a lot of DVD shopping. But just in case.
xpost with Natter.
Face of the Enemy episodes 1-8 and 10 have been released on Amazon for free.
