Mal: And I never back down from a fight. Inara: Yes, you do! You do all the time!

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm now incapable of watching PD without muttering, ''I love this show. Don't take it.'' several times. It just has so many perfect little moments.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I haven't opened it yet. I just keep looking at it like it will suddenly dawn on me what I was thinking.

Yeah, I know. I was cable-deprived the first few years SG-1 was on, so I'm sort of making up for lost time. On the other hand, I could have Netflixed them all, without shelling out an extra $100.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

I tried netflixing them but I only got to season five before giving up. There was always one or two discs out of each season that was "unavailable" or a very long wait. Which doesn't excuse me from buying them, but does define my lack of patience for delayed gratification.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Sci Fi HD just showed up in my cable lineup, which means I now get the East Coast feed. And now with nothing on. Still, January should be pretty efficient.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I finished the 3rd season of Dr. Who last night with tears in my eyes.

What a great show. I think it might be more than a crush.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Sanctuary actually kept my interest last night -- I usually start falling asleep and abandon it until the next day. The POV camera-guy and not-Tory (she must specialize in schemey acting) were a genius move.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

What with no longer living in the UK I have no idea who these comedian people are, or what the context is (and I have to say, lacking that information they didn't strike me as particularly funny), but, by George, David Tennant looks good in a dress. Cracking legs. Also lovely to hear him being Scottish. Bless.

Do you know, I hadn't seen that one, although I'd heard about it. Crappy slooooow connection at home (in Bangkok) - you have to wait ages to watch anything on Youtube, and I tend to get frustrated after five minutes. But that was awesome - cheers for the link, mate. HiLARious! I've never really watched The Catherine Tate Show, although I remember coming back from Egypt to find that she'd swept the nation, and everyone was spouting her catchphrases - "Am I bovvered" foremost among them. God. Lauren Cooper is the epitome of the reason I ended up going into primary teaching rather than secondary. Awful girl!

God, Catherine Tate is good, both at the writing and at the delivery. Cracking observation!

Also? Tennant for the win!

Our wings are not tired.

Hee, I had seen that before, but it was so fun to watch again.
