Get up...get up, you stupid piece of... What did you do that for? What's wrong with you? Didn't you hear a word he said? All of you! You think there's someone just going to drop money on you?! Money they could use?! Well, there ain't people like that. There's just people like me.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I freaking love Zuko.

Also, did no one look at DW's Avatar art gallery I linked to earlier? You will like it! [link]

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I looked, GC! There was some pretty stuff.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Ooh, no - I missed it. Thanks for the second link! (I heart Suki!)

The Suki one is way cool. DW tracks down artists that worked on the show and has them do commissions from eps they worked on. Her nerdiness is so adorable! The Zuko/Momo one was supposed to be Zuko/Sokka/Momo but the artist got it wrong. Still adorable, though!

Hee! He's so conflicted. But he has one of the most amazing character arcs ever, start to finish. I mean, take a look at him right now; he's practically unrecognizable from the person he was in the pilot, yet it's been a very natural development.

You speak the truth. I'm so fascinated within the story and on a meta level to see how they're (that is, a show targeted towards kids) handling someone truly conflicted. "Good? Bad? What is honor, really? I don't know!! It's hard!" Because, really, it is hard. Even if your're not the outcast/formerly outcast son of the fire lord.

This! How much do I heart Zuko? VERY much! Although not as much as I heart Uncle Iroh. He is my favouritest, with Zuko and Toph a little way behind. But I like all the core ensemble v. much indeed.

Zuko and Iroh's relationship slays me. I think my favoritest character changes on a per episode basis, because I love them all so much (well, no, I don't love Zuko's sister; but I enjoy watching her and her BFF assassins). Also, I am fickle. But I think Zuko has me by a hair right now. I'm definitely most interested to see how it all turns out for the young prince, but only by a hair more than a bunch of other stuff. (I'm about a third of the way through S3).

I love the characterization of Sokka, too. Yeah, he's kind of a goof, but he is a good warrior, and he's smart and capable and has good ideas and he keeps getting subtly better... and all this with no bending. I could go on about them all, but I'll stop. Er, for now. Because I have yet to talk about my love for the girls! Who are awesome.

Thanks for the link again, Glam. I've bookmarked it for later. (Later only so I don't inadvertently spoil myself.)

Ha! The episode I'm about to watch is, apparently, the one where Sokka bemoans his lack of specialness. Nice timing.

This! Yes, I love that he isn't just the Zeppo, because in the vast majority of shows that would be it. He would be incompetent punchline guy. I love that the characters and their relationships are so nuanced, and that they all grow and develop over the course of the show.

Avatar for the win!

Sokka is DW's favorite. She always says, "He's what Xander should have been."

I love Azula! And the Dangerous Ladies.

Heh. I found that sort of annoying because he always seemed perfectly content being awesome without bending ability before.

In conclusion, who lit Toph on fire?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

In re-watching the last 3 episodes of Pushing Daisies I nearly choked when I heard a name I'd missed the first time. The real estate guy shutting down the open house at the lighthouse? Willie Gherkin.
