Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

OK, if someone had told me a couple weeks ago that the best thing about Sanctuary would be Bigfoot/Wolf Man slash, I would have laughed and assumed they were joking.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Umm is this Canon? Subtext? Or fan fiction?

The first episode was enough to keep me from ever tuning into Sanctuary again.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I watch this show every single week.

I am not quite sure what keeps me coming back but come back I do.

Is it subtext when one of the characters, after being über-protective of the other and bringing him food in bed last week, this week was reassuringly stroking his face and telling him they're on this journey together?

Because if McKay/Sheppard subtext had ever gotten that blatant on SGA I feel confident that the fan reaction would have crashed the whole internet.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I'm not sure what the "sub" is in subtext, ya know?

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I assume everyone here is familiar with Jonathan Coulton's "Under the Pines"?

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I'm not sure what the "sub" is in subtext, ya know?

I think you meant to say "who" instead of "what".

Anyone watching the US remake of LoM? I am, and I like it loads. Different vibe but good. Anyway... the scene with Sam and his dad playing b-ball was so sweet. Also, Dean Winters is really good, isn't he? I've seen him in at least three or four things, and he's just whichever character he's playing. Really good.

ETA: Oh, ha! I forgot how it ended. Rat bastard.

Joseph Mallozzi may be a douche, but I appreciated his update about Jason Momoa: [link]

To the many fans out there concerned about Jason Momoa, I spoke to the big guy this afternoon and he’s doing fine. He’s on the mend, in usual high spirits, and looking forward to eventually coming down to Vancouver and kicking some alien ass. I let him know you were all worried about him and he greatly appreciates the thoughts and well-wishes.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Jesus, poor Momoa! I mean (1) poor anyone in that situation - that sounds thoroughly horrific, scary and painful. And on a slightly shallower but pragmatic note (2) LAST thing you want, as an actor (and one whose face is a goodly chunk of his fortune) is zillions of pieces of glass in your face.

Poor wee scone. Also, stupid glass-wielding psycho! Who should clearly NOT be wandering the streets!
