I know, world in peril and we have to work together. This is my last office romance, I'll tell you that.

Buffy ,'End of Days'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Interesting:

CW Scraps Pre-Robin Graysons

The CW and Warner Brothers TV have been forced to scrap their plans for The Graysons, a proposed drama about Dick Grayson, the boy wonder who becomes Batman's Robin, Variety reported.

The show had been given a put pilot commitment and was intended to replace the Superman-themed Smallville when it ends its run.

The decision to yank the project came from Warner Brothers Pictures Group president Jeff Robinov, who initially gave his blessing but changed his mind in recent days.

The Graysons was envisioned as a superhero origins story and was developed to revolve around the world of Dick "DJ" Grayson before he took on the iconic Robin identity.

(That was from Scifi Wire.)

I think that they should be doing an Ollie-centric Justice League show.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

DJ?

They canned it because they couldn't find writers who were up to year after year of Dick jokes, didn't they?

Hee.

Or possibly related to the scrapping of the NW and Robin books.

Or possibly because NO ONE WOULD WATCH IT.

When has the total and obvious suck of the product ever stopped them?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Maybe because they were mainly talking about Spring?

I figured they might mention it wouldn't be in the spring anymore.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I don't think ABC Family is ready to throw in the towel just yet. They love, and — more importantly — own The Middleman. But I think it's fair to say that they aren't going to order any new episodes in the immediate future. Right now, we are all focused on closing a deal for a DVD set that will please the fans with a lot of bonus material, bring new viewers to the show, and secure the show's legacy and longevity. As was the case with shows like Firefly, and Family Guy, the sales of the DVD will truly be the barometer for the future of The Middleman.

That's pretty close to saying that The Middleman is toast, without actually saying that it's toast.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

That's too bad. I only caught one episode, but I liked it so much I was hoping for another go around.
