I tell you I have this theory. It goes where, you're the one who's not my sister. Cuz mom adopted you from a shoe box full of baby howler monkeys, and never told you cuz it could hurt your delicate baby feelings.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Art Crawl!!!

LoM folks: so is Windy real? Is she instead of the scary little girl in the British series?

Who was that playing Sam's mom?

Barb - Oct 31, 2008 6:18:28 am PDT #5271 of 30001
“Not dead yet!”

I think Windy's real. Just... a product of her generation which in many ways makes her more open to Sam's theories and questions.

The series is growing on me now that Harvey's not chewing every single bit of scenery he comes across.

Art Crawl!!!

Oh, and I can't believe I didn't notice this: Sam's mother is Rose Tyler.

And apparently, Sam was named Tyler because of Rose (in the first place.)

ION - Smallville was good again too. EVIL Chloe - prepared to do the worst to save a friend. It was fun to see Kyle Schmid again.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

And apparently, Sam was named Tyler because of Rose (in the first place.)

nods

Yes! That tickled the hell out of me. And I'd go so far as to posit that Rose Tyler was named after Rose in Queer As Folk, who had a massive crush on Vince Tyler (who was a Doctor Who fanboy), and whom Vince said he thought he'd probably have married - in some alternative universe where he was straight. (Rusty Davis seems inordinately fond of the names Rose, Tyler and Jones.)

...at some point I'm going to write LoM/Doctor Who crossover fic that makes Sam Tyler secretly The Master, and his time-travelling a Timelord thing. You just see if I don't.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Um, oddly, I just read that story last night. Very short one, though. More atmospheric than plotty.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

So - command, task completed, click, treat.

Bad writers/researchers...NO biscuit.

I'm gonna guess they researched it just fine and decided it was funnier the other way.

Command, resistance, click, obey, treat. Way more funny.

Art Crawl!!!

I think that dog-trainer lady really had given Emerson a post-hypnotic suggestion to do what she commanded when she clicked.

(Too bad they named Sam's Dad Vic and not Vince, then.)

Also - Legend of the Seeker was fun and I think that Craig Parker is going to be one of those sexy evil guys we love so much.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

...at some point I'm going to write LoM/Doctor Who crossover fic that makes Sam Tyler secretly The Master, and his time-travelling a Timelord thing. You just see if I don't.

I would love, love, love to see your take on that. Seriously.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

RIP Stephen Hart? Well, at least for now.

He might have been of dubious judgement, but he was good in a firefight, and damned cute.
